Summer and the County Fair

Lincoln County Fair 2012

2012 was the year I really jumped off a cliff. I made the choice to follow my souls calling. I'd been reading tarot cards since February and was really good at it. I made the decision to leave the banking world and step into the spiritual world. My first big event was the Lincoln County Fair and my journey began with tarot cards.

First order of business was to create a reading room. I started with a tent, then came the curtains to hang up on three sides, which closed it off. Draped curtains in the front to give a bit of privacy. A beautiful chandelier to light the night. a cool table cover with funky green and purple chairs, all with the sign, Psychic Readings.

The fair took place the second week in July, late afternoons into the night hours in Troy, Missouri. The weather was hot and humid with 100 degrees on any given day. I would arrive, open my tent and start reading each afternoon and be the last tent open at the end of the night.

Those days were the best. I met thousands of people, did hundreds of readings and loved every minute of it. I am forever grateful to the fairgoers that gave me the chance to read for them at each and every fair. Today, I'm blessed to still have many clients from my fair days.

So if you're hesitating, waiting for the calendar to read "Jump" on the date you are suppose to, it's time. It's just time, today is the day. Follow your heart, your dreams. When you do, life happens as smoothly and easy as you have never imagined. Just do it. Follow your dream. I did, no regrets.

I'm Joe Cool, the Boss

The Mafia Boss. As I arrived at Megans' get together I looked around the room at my daughter and her coworkers. I had been here before for a little party, so I was familiar with the place and the ladies. This is a tight group of gals that enjoy working together. I had been here before doing psychic readings. This time was for a visit, laughs, no cards or readings.

I became aware of a gentleman in Spirit, he was right there. He was very comfortable and confident. I could see his jet black slicked back hair, his fedora hat. A very sharp blue pin striped suit with a white hanky in the pocket. I looked all the way down to his shoes. Black polished and shined dress shoes. I said to myself hhmmm, I knew he was the Spirit of a person that had passed away. I just didn't know who or why he was here with us. He was very charismatic, charming if you will. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders, his wise guy demeanor. I heard Joe Cool, I saw his shoes being shined. I saw what looked like a hospital room or doorway into a room. He said "Tell her I love her."

I was fairly new at this stuff; seeing, hearing, feeling, knowing when Spirit was close. I was still learning. I was blown away by it. He was so handsome, and so cool, he was easy! I decided I would say something to the group. You all know what I do for a living? They said yes. I said okay, good, because I have to tell you, "There's a gentleman here, a father. He is tall, shoulders are back, very handsome, black slicked back hair, very charismatic. doesn't know a stranger. He's, in charge, He's the boss. He shrugs his shoulders in a wise guy demeanor. then I hear, Joe Cool and I say it "Joe Cool". I ask him "The boss of what?" He just repeats I'm the boss. So I say it, "He's the boss" . Now, my eyes were closed as I was communicating with him. I opened my eyes and all the ladies have tears in their eyes. Mary says "That's my dad!" he was tall, very handsome, slick black hair. he always wore a pin striped suite, hanky in the pocket (folded correctly) his shoes were alway shined. She says, I told these ladies he was like Joe Cool. I was sick and at at the hospital a few weeks back and I was missing him. I prayed and told him I needed him and that I loved him.

He replied after she spoke, tell her I was there, at the hospital. Tell her I love her. Tell her I'm sorry, I was not the father I intended to be. I wasn't always there. I made a lot of mistakes, for that I'm sorry, but I always loved you. I'll always be here for you.

The gals started talking, Mary had described her Dad to her coworkers as Joe Cool, she said he was handsome, smart, charismatic, he was Joe Cool! He was the boss in a large family business, yes something she would relate to mafia. She was in tears and so very happy because she really needed to hear from him. He knew that and he made it happen.

I've always told Spirit I will not search out and share messages with your living loved ones. You bring them to me and I'll be your messenger. As I tell the story I can again feel the energy of when we connected and It still amazes me today. I'm forever grateful to him for choosing me to be his voice, messenger. Joe Cool, the Boss. This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Nancy Feranec – a renowned Authentic Psychic Medium. We learned more about her beginnings, what are the most difficult types of readings, and what should a psychic do in case they see something bad in a client’s future.

What inspired you to start your psychic reading business?

Quite honestly it was a feeling. Nothing more than a feeling and a knowing. I had a successful career in the banking industry, yet I no longer felt like a banker. I started reading people in the evenings for fun and within 5 months I gave a two-week notice and said I’m going to be a psychic. I left and never looked back. No regrets. I’ve been in business for 9 years.

What is the most popular type of reading that customers are looking for? What are the most common concerns that interest them?

The interesting thing about readings is the change that has taken place since the covid hit. Readings requests were usually higher than 60/40 for medium. Yet since the pandemic, more people are requesting a medium 60/40 for psychic readings. The most common concern for the medium is to know their loved one is okay and to know they missed and are loved by their family here. Things we fear are left unsaid. The most common concern for psychic readings is a search for their purpose in this life and if their family is going to be alright. People seem to be seeking out spirituality more so since the pandemic.

Are some types of psychic readings more demanding or difficult than others?

Yes, they can be. People don’t always realize life is about lessons. I can’t tell you everything, I’m not supposed to. A person has to get out there and do the action that’s needed or relax and enjoy the journey; whichever it is supposed to be – that I can tell you. Giving the truth is important, and sometimes that doesn’t feel good for me. I don’t ever want to hurt anyone.

What is the most important detail in maintaining a relationship of mutual trust with customers?

Integrity. Honor and respect. I am authentic, I will not lie or withhold any information. I will not ever discuss your reading outside the reading. I will not walk up to you out in public and discuss your life or your loved ones. I always give my best and read from my heart. I always say before the reading begins “I will not tell you when you’re going to die. I will not tell you when your family is going to die, but I will tell you the truth; good, bad, or indifferent. If I see something not easy to tell you or you don’t want to hear I’m going to say it anyway, and I will always look for the good on the other side and not leave you with gloom, doom, or sadness.

Should you see something bad in someone’s future, how do you go about dealing with that situation?

As I said in the previous question. I tell the truth and it’s not always easy but it’s what I agree to. I have never forgotten what it’s like to be on the other side of reading. I read from my heart. The cards don’t lie and most of the time… somewhere deep in that person they know, what I’m saying is the truth and that can bring comfort. Knowing.

Is there a certain practice or ritual that you use personally to prepare yourself before a reading?

I maintain a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis. I meditate, dance, walk and get fresh air every morning. Before a reading begins I set my intention out loud, take a couple of deep breaths in and start.

Better yet keep the negative people at a distance

Do you ever ask yourself "Where are all the like minded people and how do I find them?" This question comes up quite a bit when I'm working with an intuitive client. I find most people don't have spiritual people built into their lives. As they open up to this way of life, they find a challenge in finding their tribe. Why its this so important to us? Like minded people need like minded people. Have you ever spent time with a person who finds the negative in every situation?

I find myself asking the same questions. You see it's not easy to grow spiritually when you're all alone. I find life gets pretty stagnate when I'm on my own. I need like minded people who understand me. Which includes my sense of humor and the way if feel things. I need someone who will laugh with me, not at me. I need someone who understands the responsibility of being heart felt and heart lead.

I often tell people to find and join a Spirit Circle. Spirit Circle is a group that gathers to share insight, stories, problems, experiences, laughs and growth. The group as a whole is there for each other with kindness and encouragement.

Yet, sometimes we are our own worst enemy. We know what's best, yet we don't do it. We get full of self doubt, lazy, tired and just plain stubborn to do what is best for us.

I'm grateful to the people I connect with through readings. I always learn from them. I often find myself inviting them to join a Spirit Circle because I want us all to have a soft place to fall. I want everyone to live their best life from higher self but I know without others like us we do not thrive. I hope you find your tribe. Maybe join me in creating the Summer Circle.

The love of reading tarot cards came to me 10 years ago. I was always intrigued by the cards but had no idea the special gift I had with tarot. The story they tell through the pictures, signs and symbols always amazes me.

Have you ever wondered what the pictures mean? The cards tell an amazing story without words. The colors, the images within the card, the numbers, the suits are all very different. As a soul journeys through life Tarot relays the journey through significant times, lessons learned, experiences along the way. The cards show the beginning, middle and end of a souls life. Portraying big events, daily routines, upsetting and celebrating times.

Favorite and Not

My favorite tarot cards include the Wheel of Fortune. I was drawn to the card because of the colors, the images around the picture and the feeling I had when I touched it. I felt complete, like I had accomplished something. Another favorite is the Star. The card is very bright and colorful. It appears with a shining star at the top and water flowing through the bottom. It made me feel comfort, hopeful, excited.

My least liked card was the the tower card. The card shows a tower or castle in ruins with fire, smoke, water, lightening. The card made me feel like something was falling apart. Like there was a situation that would not feel good to be in. It made me feel; hopeless and lost. I also didn’t care for the devil card. The picture showed a dark image with chains and fire. The card made me feel uncomfortable, like I was stuck in a situation that I couldn’t get out of. Bondage,
